BRASS FOUNDRY + 4-STRAND BILLET CASTER.
LNS Chip Conveyor ==> 4x Loading System with Vibrating Screen “ACETARC”,
7 Ton Induction Furnace “INDUCTOTHERM” 1750kW (2013) + 7 Ton Furnace “RUSS” 1500kW,
4-Strand Continuous Billet Caster “TECHNICA GUSS”, RUSSEL cold saw + overhead crane.
Brass Billet output capacity with 2-strands:
Billets 1.000 mm (40”) x 152,4 mm (6”) diam. x 157 kg (347lbs) ; 20 billets /hr.
Billets cut to 500mm (20” for extrusion by Russel cold saw.
The Foundry consists of:
107/108 - LNS Chip Conveyor
101/102/103/104 – 4 x ACETARC Furnace Loading System (2013):
Raw material conveyor transfer system from ground floor to approx. 4.5 M height and 8M forward. 6 ton capacity storage hopper from 2013; with Siemens Simatic S7 PLC
The charging system comprises of the following main equipment:
1. Ground level vibratory feeder (No. 1) with 6 ton capacity storage hopper mounted
above it.
2. Vibrator feeder with storage hopper mounted above it (No.2). This vibratory feeder also
has weighing fitted.
3. Swivel vibratory feeder (No. 3). The swivel vibratory feeder discharge point can move
between four positions; the new furnace, the existing furnace and two park maintenance
positions. These are located to the right of the existing furnace and to the left of the new
furnace installation which will also be used for the empty system mode.
4. Skip Bucket Charging Tower with bucket weighing.
5. Skip Bucket Winding Gear
6. Access Platform
